The key ball holds a compression spring and an interlocking needle in the key box.
When the system is activated, the key ball comes out of the key box and a needle in the key box is released and punctures the seal of the gas cartridge to inflate the Hit Air air bag immediately.
Hit-air can be re-used repeatedly.
Unless it is damaged by the previous activation, it can be re-used byre placing the CO2 cartridge.
A simple changing system will have you ready to ride in minutes. After removing used Co2, reset your Hit-Air motorcycle airbag vest or jacket with the hexagon wrench and setting bolt provided.

Yes, they can be in carry on or checked luggage, however it is up to TSA discretion. You may bring your vest with the CO2 installed and up to 2 extra canisters with the vest. It is important you tell TSA that it is a “life vest” as seen in link. We suggest you print the following form, found on the TSA website, and bring it with your vest if using as a carry-on or placed in the top of luggage bag if checking the vest.

The vest is reusable. After the vest is inflated, simply deflate the vest by removing the CO2, squeezing out the excess air, and snapping back the airbags. Once the trigger mechanism has been reset and a new CO2 is installed, the vest is ready to be used again. At this time, there is not a way to reuse C02 cartridges. If you have experienced a hard fall (other than accidental inflation), the vest should be serviced or tested before re-use.
All Hit-Air vests and jackets can be used in the rain. In fact, some Hit-Air jackets have water-proof and water-resistant outer layers!
While riding in the rain will not impact the function of your Hit-Air vest or jacket, be sure to allow your vest or jacket to fully dry before storing it after your ride. Vests and jackets should be hung to dry in a shaded area and all metal pieces, including your CO2 cartridge, should be wiped dry to prevent rusting.
